Microbiota and obesity in dogs: Nutritional intervention to modulate microbiota quality

Targeting Microbiota 2021 Carmen CamachoDr. Carmen Camacho Rea, from National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, Mexico will present her recent study entitled Microbiota and obesity in dogs: Nutritional intervention to modulate microbiota quality.

Summary of the talk: Obesity is a serious health problem not only in humans, but also in companion animals and its prevalence is increasing a global level. Obesity represents a risk factor for different metabolic and disabling diseases. In recent years, the role of the intestinal microbiota in the development of obesity has been studied, so that a dietary intervention that allows a healthy way modulate the intestinal microbiota in obese patients could reduce the alterations associated with this disease.
